Dingo was commissioned by Regal Retreats Pty Ltd. in 2018 to be installed at the Mistere Spa & Retreat property just north of Murwillumbah at a place called Urliup in Northern NSW. The brief was simple to create a bold, monumentally scaled sculpture of the native Dingo to add to the already extensive collection of sculptures that grace the forested walkways of the retreat. The commission took 3 months to complete.

My approach to the commission can be best articulated in the poem I wrote to accompany the piece;

To lock eye with a Dingo

And see an ancient friend

is for a fleeting moment

A chance to make amend

When the commission was completed the client was gracious enough to allow me an opportunity to publicly exhibit the piece before permanently installing it on site.
